On August 13th, Vivo officially announced that it will release the Vivo Vision mixed reality headset Explorer Edition at 2:30 PM on August 21st. It's worth noting that the Vivo Vision is an MR (mixed reality) device, focusing on the fusion of virtual and real life, unlike pure VR.
According to previous reports, the Vivo Vision weighs approximately 380g, similar to the AirPods Max headphones and significantly less than the 650g of the Apple Vision Pro. This significantly reduces pressure on the nose and head during daily wear, addressing the fatigue issues often associated with similar weight.
In terms of interaction, Vivo claims to have achieved natural interaction with eye tracking and gesture control, making it one of only two MR devices in the world to achieve this technology, alongside the Apple Vision Pro.
In addition, the Vivo Vision supports integration with the Vivo smartphone ecosystem, particularly with the X200 Ultra. Panoramic photos taken with the X200 Ultra can be rendered as spatial video effects on the Vision.
It is reported that the Vivo Vision will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4nm chip, with high-end hardware configuration, directly competing with the Apple Vision Pro. However, as an "exploration version", vivo Vision will not be publicly sold in 2025, but offline store experience reservations will be open after the press conference to collect user feedback to optimize subsequent versions.
