Google Pixel 8 series is set to bring significant changes in the display features. The upcoming series will feature Pixel 8 with a smaller display compared to its predecessor and a flat display on Pixel 8 Pro. Pixel 6 Pro was the first phone from Google to feature a curved display. However, it seems that Pixel 8 Pro will abandon this trend. While the Pro variants of the Pixel 6 and 7 series feature curved displays, leaks suggest that the upcoming Pixel 8 Pro will come with a flat display.

Recently shared leaks from Android Authority reveal that the Pixel 8 Pro will come with a flat display, which is good news for those who prefer the flat display. We know there are also fans of curved displays, but this is what the new Pro model has to offer.

Pixel 8 will have a 6.17-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1080×2400, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 1400 nits (HDR). Pixel 8 Pro will have a larger 6.7-inch display with a resolution of 1344×2992 and a brightness of 1600 nits (HDR). The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will have ppi values of 427 and 490, respectively. The Pixel 8 Pro's display should look much sharper than the vanilla variant, but 427 ppi is pretty good for a compact phone.

Android Authority shared an illustration of both displays, which shows that the difference between the two models is not only that the Pro variant will have a flat display and the vanilla model will come with a smaller one.

What's also new is that both phones will be more rounded. While Pixel 7 has a corner radius of 47px, Pixel 8 has a corner radius of 102px. The Pixel 8 Pro has a 115px bezel, while the Pixel 7 Pro has only 50px. This year's Pixel 8 series has a much more rounded design approach than its predecessors.

The display of both phones will offer more refresh rate options than previous Pixel devices. The improved variable refresh rate feature can help save battery life. The Pixel 7 Pro can switch between 30 Hz, 60 Hz and 120 Hz, while the Pixel 8 Pro can go all the way down to 5 Hz.
